Close your eyes

Phone rings: Hello, what?!

(Guitar solo)

Arms wide open for you
Close your eyes and breathe again
She waits across to take you far away

You lived your life in misery
You shed the light on our dark minds
There is nothing that I can do for you
Tears just keep crashing

Sleep
Close your eyes
Breathe deeply and
Go to sleep

(Guitar solo)

The path has been cleared for you
It’s hard to believe life’s uncertainty
One moment you are and then you are not around

You lived your life in misery
You shed the light on our dark minds
There is nothing that I can do for you
Tears just keep crashing

Sleep
Close your eyes
Breathe deeply and
Go to sleep

(Music turns aggressive)

These tears of sheer agony!
Sheds the niceness inside me!
Spearing through my consciousness!
The blackness reappears!

I remember
The time when you had
Fought for us boldly
And saved us from the plight

I remember
The time when you had
Taught us the meaning
And essence of life

Take a deep breath and sleep
Through your journeys deep and steep!
I’ll be here my friend
For all that you did for me
Sacrifices with wounds!
I’ll be here my friend

This world has lost its faith!
Here truth is now a wraith!
Shut your eyes to this charade!

(Music turns soft)

And, Sleep
Close your eyes
Breathe deeply and
Go to sleep

Hey, Bros-What's shakin. I love music but have not the makings. So I take my enjoyment in others. Could really hear a melody hear, really flowed nice and great power in emotions. Godd job, Mate! I get songs in my head in the middle of the night. I get up to write them down, but in the morning, without the tune, it's all a little awkward. Regards~Rick

@Rikkij - Hey, yea, I come up with some songs in a similar manner.

I sing the tune to myself onto my mobile phone that allows me to voice record stuff. In that way, I keep the tune intact. But, I mostly ending up adding a tune just for the chorus or one verse. You can try doing this to save your imagination.

But, I can imagine the instrumental sections of my song quite well. Hence, I add them as I write my songs.

Thanks a lot mate!!! Appreciate it!!!

wow - I want the song. I don't know if it is possible to "want" a song, but if it is, I want this one.

@Meena - So, you liked this one, eh? Thank you.

Do you mean that you want to compose a tune for this one? Let me know.

You keep the emotions coming Ajey.
I noticed that you wrote it in 2004 and it is still very impressive. It is very nice to read it with the background piano music. I really wish that I can hear all you songs with music bros.

Hey Brosreview,

Beautiful song, so vivid and emotionally palpable to the core.

Have you tried to record the song? Just curious but I'd love to hear what it sounds like performed. Amazing words. As always, thanks for visiting my site.

Take care

Thanks for visiting my blog Brosreview.
Your lyrics are touching and somehow in this one song evoke a strong/sad feeling of the loss of a mother..

You have an old head on young shoulders. I appreciate your comments, always. Thanks you.
I think when you feel things deeply, you write more deeply too and the reader can feel such. Hence the lyrics to 'Close your Eyes'
Song lyrics and Poetry are not so different, hey?

@SarahA - Very true SarahA!!! Thank you!!!

I closed my eyes and heard the song.you write your songs, compose music and play them? that should be heaven.. such a depth in words... amazed...

Opaque said...

@Viji - Yes, I do to a certain extent. Thank you!!!

I just re-read this and as an interpretation, I think the "she" in the song can actually be "death" or the grim reaper. Just consider it. :-)

Opaque said...

@Meena - Oh yea, that's a good one. But, nah, I have nothing for this one. This one's a straightforward one.

Anonymous said...

Lol,
I wasn't implying you did. Ans nothing is ever really simple.

Opaque said...

@Meena - I got that. You were trying to establish a connection there, which is fine. But, this one is based on a true incident in my life. Hence,I stopped you. Pardon me.
