Reflection
(Choir – AH INTRO)
(Flute and Strings begin)
(Piano begins)
(Flute + Piano dual – 15 seconds)
(Flute + Piano + Strings trio – 15 seconds)
(Percussion bridge)
(Soft Drums + Mild guitar strokes begin + Strings/Flute/Piano stop)
(Recital/Sing MALE VOCALS)
My dear river
Could you straighten your
Unforgiving, winding course
Running
Incessantly carrying
Varying
Emotions
Rhyming within
Meandering between
Pebbles and stones
Bathed in your
Glow forever
A revealing reflection
(Saxophone solo)
(Piano bridge)
Guide me to that place
My dear river
Longing for a shore
I shiver to glitter
(Guitar Bridge)
(Strings begin)
Ripples settle down as
I’m going home forever
The leaf floats on its reflection
A true affection
Guide me
My dear river
To my shore
Sweet and pure
(All instruments stop)
(Strings EXTRO)

This is beautiful AJ. It flows just like a poem...I enjoyed this piece : )
@The Write Girl - Thank you!!!
Emotions that crest, a crecendo, as though reaching the heights of the stream flowing downward, meandering, unbiden in its course. (Much like that lovely run on sentence);D
Hopefully you will reach the shore that you seek, that glittering, shore, sweet and pure.
Lovely piece Ajay. (I've written several times of the river myself)
SG
@SG - Ah, you get the essence so very well as if you are reading me mind. Thanks a lot!!!
So very nice, Ajey. Thanks for that. I love all bodies of water. Yesterday I spoke with my Aunt Hilda with whom I will be traveling to Africa over Christmas. On my bike ride yesterday evening I was just thinking of how wonderful it's going to be to see the Nile with its vastness and length. Rivers vary in depth, energy, tributaries and distributaries. As do people, though the body is the same. Rivers are life. Thanks again.
@Judith - "Rivers are life"- So true! Thank you!!!
OK, what did you do with Ajey? I'm worried about him!
Not that you haven't written gorgeous Ajey, but this is so light and fluid. "I shiver to glitter." I love it!
@Woman in a window - Yes, something very much unlike the current AJ. This is one of my old writings. Thanks, I am glad you loved it!
Brosreview,
Of all the pieces I've enjoyed on your blog, this one truly flows right through my spirit and soul, both the words and the music. Gentle and calming, free spirited, and just perfect for unwinding and having a "down time". "Meandering between Pebbles and stones" ... lovely!
- LJ
@Lilly - Thanks a lot!
wow, breathtaking!! ...guide me my dear river to my shore...
love it!!
@Noelle - Thank you!!!
BR,
This one is more heavy than most realize I think. Reflection on oneself, on one's longings and desires of both what they wished the past to be and what the future might hold is never an easy thing to do. Just as a river can not stop its flow, it can also can not change the what path it has already taken. However, just like life- it is both constant and ever changing in the same breath.
Nicely done, Brosereview.
@findingmywingsinlife - Yes, this one is quite deep due to the heaviness of the meaning. I reckon, while the rest commented that this is comparatively lighter, they were commenting on the writing style. But, yes, the message is still quite heavy.
Thanks, you!!!
@thepoetryman - Thanks mate!
This is very beautiful indeed !
'The leaf floats on it's reflection'
Very profound and it certainly flows taking you places at times!!
AJ-leaf floating on it's reflection. Nice and breezy. You were in such a different place back then. ~rick
Yes, I thought the same as The Write Girl, the poem is floating. It is so well composed that I forget the words and in my mind I see this emotional river.
The imagery is incredible and there is a certain restrained quality to this piece, which creates magic.
I associate this lovely lyrics with one of the best songs with the Doors, namely, "Yes, the River Knows"!
This is one of my favourites here!
@Aditya - Thank you!!!
@Rikkij - Yes, I was, wasn't I? Thanks mate!
@Jenny - Ah! I love that track very much! Thanks a lot!!!
it feels like i'm going.... home....
Oh how I have longed for that shore over and over again.You took me back HOME..
"Meandering between Pebbles and stones" I feel it, YES YES YES
Superb my dear Ajey...I enjoyed it as your words float in my mind taking me away to observe and reflect...
soothing and beautiful...
A beach to lay back on and soak the sun on
hey ajey,
i donno abt the instrumentation bro, but the wordings were marvellous.
esp the words,
"Guide me to that place
My dear river
Longing for a shore
I shiver to glitter"
struck a brilliant chord with me.
couldn't understand the lines
"The leaf floats on its reflection
A true affection"
but still felt that it fits there somehow..! beautiful...! :)
Ajey, I love this one!! It connects with one's heart through the beauty of Earth.
Love the idea of using brass in the middle of the song!! And the strings... they just grab the soul... Excellent work!!
-Alex
@inky - Yes, all of us go through this feel some or the other day! Thanks for reading!

@Alexandra - Thank you!!! I am glad you like this one!
AJ,
This is one of the most satisfying reads I've come across in a long time. Probably because I would've written it almost exactly the same way, so I could relate to it, completely. I liked your metaphors and the mood being carried.
Beautiful.
Arjun.

Guide me to that place
My dear river
Longing for a shore
I shiver to glitter

Kat
wow. its fabulous.
Fantastic lyrics and emotional too! I love it. I wish I can hear the music. Yes, I agree with The Write Girl, there is a poetic essence of the wordings. Fabulously composed!
Hi Ajey,
I was curious about your blog because my wife Jenny (Cinnamon)spoke warmly of your writing, so I decided to check it out.
This is brilliant!! I have read many of your lyrics here and they are powerful and unpredictable. I really like how you add both light and dark elements in your texts.
I do not write poetry or lyrics myself, but I appricate reading it anyway.
Cheers,
Ande
wow what depth in those few lines .....
Just plain beautiful and yet such depth and yearning......Love it :)

"unforgiving, winding course"...
as deep as the river, which is
unforgiving, yet somehow and
eternal truth of life.
you're damn good AJ.

@Jm - Thanks! Yes, sure! I shall visit your spot in sometime. Bear with me.
Beautiful!
@Catvibe - Thanks!
I admire the orchestration starting this piece. It is simple, thoughtful and for the same reason, it is simply brilliant!
The acrostic sets the tone for me. It is splendid! It says so much with just a few words. Wisely written!
This is one of your softer pieces, yet you have not made it devoid of your signature style. I appreciate that very much. It confirms to me that you are never off-track.
Especially, to post this after "Until the end" adds more depth to this song.
@J - Thanks mate!!!
that was superb. in fact i loved it the most. i would request u to please upload the audio of it.
@Preetilata - Thanks!!
Another pure offering of pure
heartfelt emotions, AJ.
You must have the most beautiful
heart. And the instruments - piano,
flute and strings -- Ahhh.
@Cynthia - Ah! Thank you!!!
This one was again subtler by the theme compared to ur oder works...Nevertheless da magic still remains! nice work, bro! likd it! :)
@Maverick - Thanks!!!
i like this.
@Loren - Thanks
"Reflection" reflects your mood perfectly...
"Ripples settle down as
I'm going home forever
The leaf floats on its reflection
A true affection"
"The leaf floats on its reflection"? It sounds so easy but how did you even think of it.
"this heart's no diamond", "The leaf floats on its reflection"...
The list grows Ajey...
Think I am the last to comment, been out of town.
Awesome write AJ.
@Viji - Thanks!!!
Love the song.. there is a intense sense of desire hidden in those words, a ton of conflict too... a wish to let go and gain total control.. sounds like a paradox.. but makes perfect sense..
thanx for dropping by :)
keep in touch
Greetings from India
@Chhaya - Thanks, you!
To say it has a nice flow (pun intended) is an understatement. You did a swell job! Always nice to come by

**The leaf floats on its reflection
A true affection
A profound thought... Humanity can learn from this. Without getting overtly narcissistic.
Bravo! Loved it...
Peace. Be well.
@Kartz - Thanks, you!!!
I felt carried away on a river of imagination with this. Wonderful.
@Rebekah - Thanks!!!
Ajey! This one is one of my favorites! I can hear it in my ipod while I write poetry.
It's amazing how you used the words and how they blend like vanilla and chocolate.
Z
@zorlone - Ah, thanks mate!!!

hope it all comes to an album soon, i want an autographed copy bro...i'm serious!!
@Leo - Thanks! Definitely, man! I shall send you a copy!
Man, you use a variety of instruments in your compositions?! A saxophone?!?!
Anyhow, you must be having a reason behind it all so all is cool there!!
Take care, man!
