Forgive to Forget
The beginning
(Instrumentals - 2 minutes)
A warm summer noon
Under a blue dotted sky
Filled with compassion
Faith and resilience
Confusion strikes the clueless mind
Arrogance coats the fragile mind
Only the faithful wait
The rest leave one to their fate
Lives try to survive through the flames
With so many to blame
We forget and forgive
Fading innocence
Tries to break the circle
Sinking conscience
Breaks the circle
The night
(Only Piano)
The moon shone
On a beautiful night
They plucked the rose from the garden
Pricked and tore it apart
An unforgiving mistake
Putting lives at stake
“What could we do?”, they ask
She says, “you could have stopped them”
The moon wept
As a star shot down from the sky
The ending
(Drum solo)
This did not intend to end
But, there’s nothing you can do to amend
(Instrumentals – 2 minutes)
She faced the striking voices
And, her heart tore apart
But, her scarred heart kept beating
For the ones she was feeding
My heart kept bleeding
But, the anger wouldn’t stop receding
Our first one was gone
Our lovely one
Faith in Him, was gone
And, we waited for a new dawn
Lives try to survive through the flames
With so many to blame
We forget to forgive
Fading innocence
Tries to break the circle
Sinking conscience
Breaks the circle
The new beginning
(Guitar solo)
(Instrumentals – 2 minutes)
He looked at her
Her, whose heart kept throbbing,
Her, whose inside just could not stop sobbing,
The windows are closed but
The candle light shivers in the dark
Confined to the hole, he was
Recalling his actions
He says, “Scary as hell”
Regret is an unforgiving spell
The life he lived was twisted by this world
He becomes the change, he wishes to see in this world
His mistake with others put a life to an end
Now, penance is his new best friend
(Instrumentals – 2 minutes)
He feels what we felt
Submits to the deal
Admits to the guilt
To help us heal
Eight years, we lived our lives in the flames
With so many to blame
We forget to forgive
Forgive to forget
(Piano solo)
(Instrumental bridge)
The rose was gone
But, the sun still shone
We sow a new seed
With all our love, we shall feed
He scarred our loving hearts
But, we lighten his heavy heart
Not a son to us he was
Still, a son to us he became
With mercy in the air
The sun shone on the endless fields
A life we chose to spare
Forgiveness was only fair
Lives survived though the flames
How many more to blame?
She’s gone and she’s gone forever
Now, we forgive to forget
(Choir –AH)
Love and mercy
Complete the circle
Faith and hope
Complete the circle

how i love the underlying message of this piece!
so much pain and reflection. Where should forgiveness place it's first step. Liked it. ~Rick
@Shadow - Thank you. It is quite heartfelt, isn't it?
@Rikkij - The reason behind the length of this song was to actually convey the difficulty in forgiving someone who has hurt you so bad.
Thank you. I am glad you felt it and liked it.
"Confusion strikes the clueless mind
Arrogance coats the fragile mind

What powerful words, Thank you. I shall now continue reading.
Brosreview - This is truly an incredibly beautiful composition, my friend. Your ability to speak plainly and describe human existence with truth and love is wonderfully shown here. Thank you so very much for these words.
Recently, I've come to the relative of one who has an online music and media group; there are many artists there. I will send her your blog today.
Great stuff, Brosreview.
You are love!
Happy Valentine's Day!
Brosreview - I have made the contact. Please email me via my blog and I can share more with you. All the best!
I like it and see it all unfold in my mind.
In the end and with no offence intended to you, it was great
Love and mercy
"Heal open wounds"
Faith and hope
Complete the circle
@Judith - Thanks a lot Judith. I am glad you liked this song. A bit lengthy though, innit? But, as I mentioned earlier, it is only to show how hard it is to forgive someone who has deeply hurt you.
And, yea, I shall contact you shortly.
@Walker - Thanks!!!
Your change too sounds quite good, frankly. But, I have a reason between repeating the posted line twice.
No offence taken mate. I appreciate it as it lets me know that you've read this rather lengthy song till the end, heh.
Ajey..Standing ovation for you brother..
I am amazed how you managed to say so much with this one..
This is a sheer beauty
My fav lives
"“What could we do?”, they ask
She says, “you could have stopped them”
The moon wept
As a star shot down from the sky"
Although the entire song is a masterpiece..

the Beginning was great - and it got gradually better. Some rather clever stuff here, I think!
Dear Friend Ajey,
This is a very powerful song you wrote. It's the best I read to you. You have many others that are excellent but this one rises above them! Your control of the different sections of the song without loosing focus of meaning or form shows with no doubts how creative you are.
Keep rolling bro.!
@Make Me Disappear - Thank you
@Dave King - Thank you Dave. I am glad you liked it.
@Khaled KEM - Oh, sadeeq'. Thank you. That means a lot to me. Shokran!!!
your songs are so powerful, so much in them...
too many lines I could pick out, so I won't..
Katie, :)
@Content Chris - Thanks for reading and appreciating.
@Rainbow Dreams - Thank you!!!
Hello BrosR., this is powerful. I would love to see this on stage.
Your mind is awesome.
@Cynthia - Thanks a lot!!!
I loved the word placement in the very starting!! It's very touching...very heartfelt!
A little confused left upon the theme, it seems to be tale of a mother loosing a child due to someone's mistake! But I'm not entirely sure about it!!
The title captured my attention instantly!
Good going!
@Saadi - Thanks a lot. I shall call and explain some time. It will take some time.
At last I found where to post a comment. Wow this is one awesome song/poem. I loved it. So many of the words fit in my own life. Well done my friend.
love-bd
@Beloved Dreamer - Thank you!!!
Is it that easy to forgive/ forget/ or forgive to forget..? The emotional undercuurents are very strong in this buddy...
But for me masking and living a life is easier than forgiving, forgetting... Cruel I am, ain't I?
@Zendagi - Well, nothing cruel about it. Sometimes, I reckon that is the best thing to do. It has got a lot to do about personalities.
But, having written that, if you have completely understood this song, you wouldn't have written that. This is the utmost test of patience and/or forgiveness.
Thanks any ways!!!
this one is simply fantastic. bless u
@island of peace - Thanks!
Wow, a composition that feels a part of me..
Its difficult to forgive someone who has hurt us to the core, so we "Forget to Forgive", but sometimes, the forgiveness becomes a soothing balm on the wound of grief.. But then how many of us has the courage to "Forgive to Forget"
This reminds me a lot of what I was saying in my last post. The past rips us apart, drags us down and some thing try to kill us. There are things all of us have done we would rather forget than regret but we can't. Sometimes forgiveness is our only option, sometimes we can, sometimes we can't. I feel in this one forgiveness was possible. I love the imagery in this piece.
