Howling

(Guitar INTRO)
(Bass + Keyboard begins)
(Drums begin)

(GROWL)
Howling through the haunting nights
Fainting through the depths of heights
Beyond the palm’s disgrace
In search of the claw’s embrace

(Drum + Bass dual)
(Drums stop)
(Guitar solo)
(Choir – OOH)

(CLEAN VOCALS)
It is your mind, my soul
My hearse, your arms
Your wish, my fate
My incompleteness, your destiny

(Guitar solo)
(Choir-OOH - FADE OUT)
(Guitar + Bass dual)
(Drums begin)
(Keyboard solo)
(Guitar Bridge)

(CLEAN VOCALS)
You wait for the praising faith
You run away from the sharpened scathe
I wait for the fearing death
I run towards the sharpened scathe

Peeking from the brutal crest
I’m waking to an insightful quest

(Instrumental break)
(Guitar solo)
(Drum + Bass dual)

(GROWL)
Argh!
Look at my shadow, choking itself
Shedding its’ skin from itself

(Drum solo)
(Drum fills + Guitar solo)
(Keyboard solo + Drums stop)
(Choir-OOH)

(CLEAN VOCALS)
Leaned and bent and wept to this darkness
Running away from this shadow, still
It’s following

(GROWL)
It is following
It keeps following
Argh!

(Drums begin)
(Guitar + Keyboard dual)

(CLEAN VOCALS)
This blatant ignorance grows wilder
Scraping my flesh, draping my soul
Growing bolder and stronger
Now, I’m mired beneath my funeral pyre

(GROWL)
This blatant ignorance grows wilder
Scraping my flesh, draping my soul
Growing bolder and stronger
Now, I am mired beneath my funeral pyre

The "Song for the week" is an instrumental piece by Joe Satriani - Always with me, always with you. This is one of my favorite romantic instrumentals.

Fatalistic death approaching, incompleteness without the other, yet with a force that shall destroy both...

AJ, bout time you opened the door. Yeah, me and my shadow. Always that damn shadow. Gotta be honest, my new header pic needs to be the cover of an album with this song. Perhaps we're too dark. I love it. always running away and to and never escape. Good stuff. ~rick

Ajey,
Bit dark at first... we fear death but without it life would have different meaning. Can't have one without the other...
Excellent write!!

What a palpable and haunting setting in this piece. Fantastic writing as always Ajey. Love the imagery in this piece as well.

I like the first half better than the latter half. I've seen most of your songs be consistent...I like the switch in tone...or maybe the tone is in my head, lol.

As always, like your work.

The pessimist in me sees the shadow of gloom soon taking the form of claws of death.. A deliverance in the wake of loss and frustration..

Since I don't get your feed, I sometimes am delayed coming here. Apologies for that.

On this song all I can say is, "Now we are talking". This is the real stuff, this is reality, simple brutality of life. Doom is imminent, yet there is the tendency to touch it, to make it happen. There is incompleteness, even the shadows seems to have left your side. A feeling of total insanity. This is beautiful.

@PS - Thanks

@Vittaldas - It is okay. I completely understand. That is why I sent an e-mail to all my followers that I update my blog once every week, on Mondays.

Thank you!!
