Empty Vase

(Guitar INTRO)
(SFX – Wind)

(WHISPER)
Are you watching closely?

(Drums BEGIN)

You want to be fooled
Once you know the secret
You will no longer look for the known

Keep looking

Be amazed

In two minds

(Strings BEGIN)

You’re not fooling anyone
Everyone knows the truth
They pay a price to be fooled

(DUAL VOCALS)
Don’t fool anyone
Make them wonder
I may be not what you think I am

(DUAL VOCALS)
No tricks, no lies, no secrets
OK
I don’t love you today

(DUAL VOCALS)
All those questions I’d asked
To which the answers I had known
Are coming back for me now

(Guitar SOLO)

(DUAL VOCALS)
When 9 becomes an 8
You are closer to your fate
Still, he doesn’t mind death

(DUAL VOCALS)
Keep it with you
For if you give it up
You give up more than you think you have

(WHISPER)
Everything has a price
When the curtain falls
The price is revealed
Everything has a price
When the curtain falls
The price is revealed

(GROWL)
Everything has a price
When the curtain falls
The price is revealed
Everything has a price
When the curtain falls
The price is revealed

(SPEAKER 1)
Greatness is in power and fame
(SPEAKER 2)
Greatness is in goodness and service
(SPEAKER 1)
I am looking closely for that one thing that can fool everyone, hahaha
(SPEAKER 2)
Are you watching closely?
(SPEAKER 1)
I have gone everywhere. I have made sacrifices.
(SPEAKER 2)
You have made convenient choices.
(SPEAKER 1)
What do you mean?
(SPEAKER 2)
Are you really looking?
(SPEAKER 1)
YES!
(SPEAKER 2)
Have you seen below that vase?
(SPEAKER 1)
No. What about it? It is empty.
(SPEAKER 2)
Are you really looking?

Ahh this was quite different.....making choices is the most difficult task at hand.....convenience is easy but sacrifices is tough.....but then sacrifice yields the best fruit...!

The vase is only half empty. But if you are speaking of your heart being empty then that may be so. I am thinking you are speaker 2.

I love the questions you ponder here. Are we really seeing the reality before us? There is something philosophical about this piece. Nicely written here AJ.

nicely put together Ajey! as always, there is a lot more here than meets the eye..but I gotta admit- I did a 'half smile' and shook my head at that one question, "Have you seen below the vase?"

this one was very interesting to read :)

I'm reminded of a magician's ruse with the "Are you looking?"
N wondering how expensivbe the vase is!

I was here a couple days ago reading, but my connection crashed - well, we were having a snowstorm again!
