Today is one of those days I went for a long walk by myself. I wanted to atleast recollect if not relive the moments I had spent with this special person. This special one is someone I remember every time I strike matches as he was the one who taught me how to light them.
If you truly someone, you miss their presence almost every moment of your day. Today, I miss my dad a lot. I miss "his warmth, his love, his wisdom, his direction, his advise and his optimism".
My dad always wishes the best for everyone. There have been certain people whose association with my dad has bothered me. But, my dad who has always had an eye on the greater good has always taught me to be patient and have faith in people, in general.
There are often times when I can come across as a wishful thinker. I am a kind of person who ends up reasoning peoples' actions with positive justifications. I very well realize that this is not always ideal. I think I am a dreamer. If I don't have anything good to say about someone, I feel the urge to get to know them better. I can be unrealistically optimistic at times. Although not a good characteristic, some may say, I think it leaves me with no bitter aftertaste about anyone.
I think it does not matter how my father is, it is how I remember him that matters. He does not teach me how to live, but lives the right life and lets me watch him. And, weirdly I realize that whenever my dad has given me anything, we've both laughed and enjoyed it, and when I give him anything, we both isolate ourselves to cry.

I usually never have faith in folks, so when they do offer kindness or help, I truelly appreciate it.
You're lucky to have such memories of your time with your Dad. So many folks don't know theirs well-
You must give sentimental treats as gifts.
What a good perspective to have.
I remember my Father at specific things n actions also. He was so patient, too.
This is very beautiful. Thank you for sharing these thoughts...
Powerful and touching. I, too, am a dreamer! Your poem of the week is up at my page!!
Wish I had that much positivity and optimism that comes out of the post :)
I am by nature the giver and believe everyone is good but then I see negatives more and its hard to believe....Love this post for that part which I hardly find in myself :)
