Black River
(Guitar INTRO)
(Bass begins)
(Drums begin)
(Guitar solo)
Tears flow for her son
She weeps for her only one
She prays for the fate that’s done
No good to her only one
Solace she seeks and finds
It glimmers in the room of mind
Her face gleamed like the morning rays
As sorrow fled her face
(BACKING VOCALS SPOKEN)
Have faith and give faith to keep faith (X2)
From the chimney, the witch flies away
Across the skies she sways
Past the nights and past the days
She flies until she reaches the Gates
I’m here for him
“Where is he?! My only one”
I shall bring upon troubles
Destruction and ruthless fate
No lies I shall bear
The deception I shall dare
You can take away my eyes
But, he shall be my sight
(Drums stop)
(Sitar solo)
(Sitar and Guitar fusion)
(Guitar and Flute fusion)
(Drums begin)
(Flute and Piano fusion)
(Fusion stops)
(Bass + Drum Bridge)
The stars light the way to
The path of no return
Impossible and incomplete
Still, she rows through the black river
(Guitar Bridge)
Solace she seeks and finds
It glimmers in the room of mind
Her face gleamed like the morning rays
As sorrow fled her face
(BACKING VOCALS SPOKEN)
Have faith and give faith to keep faith (X5 EXTRO)

I couldn't find the comments link - it's hidden in the white box (at least on my computer screen).
I really like this song - it's kind of eerie in a way. This line stuck out for me particularly:
"It glimmers in the room of mind" it's a beacon of hope for me.
Good job!
Kat
@Poetikat - Thanks a lot!!!
Dude-is it confuse me tuesday already?? Okay, (deep sigh) let's tear it apart and see what we got. With AJ, this could be about anything! Two women over the same son? Where is she finding this solace-surely not in a river of black, impossible of no return. Why has the witch lost her eyes? Is it only one woman? OK-that's the questions. Now, i really liked it. Your mind was delving into fantastical things in this period and this I can easily imagine to music and liking alot. This was a good creative period for you. I actually see and hear this as a dark opera. thumbs up~Rick (but you're making me work too hard!)
"From the chimney, the witch flies"
That right there sold me, but all of the imagery is so rich, and yes eerie, in this one. I like it!
@Rikkij - You are quite close mate!!! I love the way you analyse my songs. Thanks for that.
Yea, it was a good creative transition phase, frankly.
Likewise, even I imagined this more as a dark opera; the diverse instrumental sections.
Sorry for making you work too hard. But, that's just me!!!
Thanks a lot Rick!!! I am glad you like this one!!!
@Woman in a Window - Thank you!!!
Hey Brosereview,
Great song! I love the line "Have faith and give faith to keep faith"
Nicely done : )
I like this especially "you can take away my eyes but he shall be my sight"....intense!
@The Write Girl - Thanks a lot!!!
@Noelle - Thank you!!!
"Have faith and give faith to keep faith"
This one is beautiful, any particular reason for the witch episode? I mean could not really relate what all was happening in the song...my bad though..
@sudharm baxi - Everything revolves around the "witch episode". Thank you!!!
i love they mystical and magical feel to this song.
Ajey,
I love the intro of the song...Must sound great..
I am trying to get inline of the theme...Witch flies away through the chimney..
I am quite fond of the subject you choose, if the theme is same as i thought of..this is one reason that I absolutely loved it..
Again, a masterpiece from your magical hat, heh...I would love to say that for I know you have one..
The picture you chose is quite apt with the song...the chorus part, the sitar and guitar fusion gives a lot of depth to it.
Thank You for writing and sharing..!!!
-Rahul
Lovely, you and I say such because I always do when words are written to make me think and provoke an emotion within my being.
I have to echo Noelle about the line "you can take away my eyes but he shall be my sight" I like muchly.
'you can take away my hearing, but she shall be my ears' Hey?
@Make Me Disappear - Thank you!!!
@SarahA - Thanks a lot!!!
you write so many songs on here, i cant put them together in my mind to be honest. i need to hear it in my ears. its not the same to me as i read it & there is no beat/tune to it. im sorry, but this makes me have a rough time. i hope you can forgive my lack of comments on your songs. though, the words are usually excellent, i just find it hard to say something.
ps. what award are you talking about?
pss. can you email me sometime. it would be easier than back & fourth commenting (when i often forget to check if you wrote me back..)
losurf24@yahoo.com
@Loren Fay - I completely understand. Thanks for reading them!!!
@Loren Fay - Oh, yea, sure, I shall e-mail you shortly. Ta.
"You can take away my eyes
But, he shall be my sight"
"Have faith and give faith to keep faith"
Those are the lines that stole my heart.
little tricky...if you miss a line, you miss the story line.
mom searching for her son, knocked the door of heaven? I feel it is all about one woman not two. tell me if i am wrong.
Dark Fantasy, magical mystical, deeply archtypical themes? I have to confess...I like the witch flying from the chimney...
How about an audio with it?
Great post and actually fun to read...I am into fantasy I confess
Linda
@Viji - "if you miss a line, you miss the story line."- To me, this is a complement.
"I feel it is all about one woman not two." - I like your take.
Thank you!!!
@Linda - Unfortunately, I do not have an audio now. I am glad you like it. Frankly, I too am into fantasies, to a certain extent though.
Thank you!!!
The music part interested me quite a bit...I mean da fusion stuff...wld sound pretty awesome I guess! The lyrics dark as they can be are still somewhere humane with subtle hidden emotions coming to the fore...mebbe lik da undulations of the black river itself! Luvd it!
@Maverick - "The lyrics dark as they can be are still somewhere humane with subtle hidden emotions coming to the fore"- Glad you spot that one out!!! Thank you!!!
hey bro,
I have been publishing your comments on my blog. I can't keep up! LOL
These songs of yours are touching. This one in particular is sad...
What genre do you your songs belong to?
Z
@zorlone - Thanks mate!!! Oh, is it? I just left your spot a few minutes back while you were exploring mine here.
Umm, I mostly write for anything under the heavy metal genre.
Sorry about that... I thought these were like "the red jumpsuit..." genre.
cool stuff!
Z
@zorlone - To be honest, with some minor tweaks it could fit that genre as well. But, I reckon the theme of this song shall contradict the style.
You don't have to apologise.
Hi Ajey, like this one a lot! I can see the mother trying to save/protect her son from the evil witch - troublesom temptations and pain of growing up...
Very nicely written!!
-Alex
@Alexandra - Thanks a lot!!!
i really like this - darkness & light - sorrow and solace - and you infuse it with your own brand of intensity which really amplifies it. (also i really want to hear the sitar/guitar fusion part.)
@joaquin carvel - Thanks, you. Yea, the fusion part took a lot of thinking. I am glad it makes sense.
This has to be one of my favorites of your.
Great depth
@Walker - That means a lot to me. Thank you!!!
This reminds me of the closing scene of "All Quiet on the Western Front" - which is a book abt WWI.
Good work :-)
@Meena - Thank you!!!
bro. this took my breath away.
you are so adept at writing the
emotions.
@Nadege - Thank you!!!
The photograph has stayed with me- I see the earth in a crystal ball; or mother nature caged in a man-made globe. It tweaks the mind.
@Lilly Jones - A nice take there!!! Thanks for reading!!!
I visited ur spot after quite a few days! Alot of posts to go thru!
Anyhow, I'm starting with this one! I loved the line;
"Have faith and give faith to keep faith"
And you've put in pieces with Sitar! That's something new...I don't think I've seen you use that in your works before!
And this makes me look forward to hear this one even more!
@Saadi - Thank you!!!
finally discovered it (the way to post comment).
its fabulous.
@thoughts - Glad, you found it! Thanks!!!
